Frequently Asked Questions

Holistic Care Questions

How does reflexology help my entire body?

Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that involves pressure applied to specific parts of the feet, face, hands or ears that correspond to specific areas of the body. This pressure helps release tension and promote relaxation throughout the body, which can help with a variety of conditions.

Who can benefit from reflexology sessions?

Reflexology is suitable for  everyone and can be beneficial in alleviating a wide range of conditions including stress, anxiety, headaches, digestive disorders, arthritis, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, sports injuries, menstrual disorders, and neck pain. It is a non-invasive therapy that aims to balance the physiological and emotional levels of the body. However, it's always recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new treatment.

How many treatments are typically needed?

The benefits of reflexology are cumulative, meaning the more sessions you have, the better you will feel. At Sole 2 Soul, we generally suggest clients schedule multiple sessions to experience the full benefits of reflexology. Our experienced reflexologists will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals.

Is reflexology safe during pregnancy?

Reflexology is generally considered safe after the first trimester. It is important to inform your reflexologist if you are pregnant so that they can adjust the treatment accordingly. Some reflex points may need to be avoided, especially those associated with pelvic and uterine areas. Our 3rd trimester Reflexology sessions are designed to reduce  pain &  create internal wellness as you prepare for baby.

Always consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new therapy during pregnancy.

What should I expect during my first reflexology session?

During your first reflexology session, your reflexologist will begin with a consultation to discuss your health history and any current health issues. This information helps tailor the session to your specific needs. You’ll then be seated comfortably or lie down while the reflexologist applies gentle pressure to specific points on your feet, hands, or face. The session typically lasts between 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the type of session booked. You should feel relaxed and calm during the treatment, and many clients experience a sense of well-being and relaxation afterward.

Is there any aftercare advice following a reflexology treatment?

After a reflexology session, it's important to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins. You may feel relaxed or tired, so it's advisable to avoid strenuous activities immediately after your appointment. Some people may experience mild side effects such as emotional sensitivity, mild headache, or feelings of nausea, which typically subside quickly. If you have any concerns after your session, contact your reflexologist for further advice.
